History of Building
Bell Elementary School, home of the Bulldogs, opened its doors in the fall of 2009. Proudly displaying blue and silver as its colors, the school was one of two new elementary schools built as part of a $40 million bond issue passed in 2006. Bell Elementary is strategically located in the Shadow Lake Neighborhood, off of 84th Street south of Highway 370, to serve the growing population in this area.
Named after the Bell family, early settlers in the region, the school honors the rich history of the community while providing modern educational facilities. Since its opening, Bell Elementary has quickly established strong community ties and become known for its emphasis on character education.
The Bulldog mascot, symbolizing determination and loyalty, reflects the school's commitment to fostering these qualities in its students. The school's modern facilities, designed with the latest educational standards in mind, provide an optimal learning environment for its students.
Upholding the district's motto "Be Known for Greatness," Bell Elementary fosters strong community connections and emphasizes character education, helping shape a new generation of outstanding citizens. Through its innovative programs and dedication to student success, Bell Elementary continues to play a vital role in the educational landscape of the Papillion La Vista Community Schools district.
As part of the ongoing commitment to improvement across the district, Bell Elementary is slated for further enhancements under the 2023 Bond project. These improvements will include the installation of a secure entrance, playground updates, and minor interior updates, further enhancing the school's safety and educational facilities.
